"I am not a homemaker because I had too little ambition or education to make anything else of myself. No—I am a homemaker because God has given me the infinite honour of being a wife, and I delight in employing every ability that He has equipped me with in this glad career. I LOVE BEING HOME."

Thanksgiving Everyday

Elisabeth is sick for the first time.
I am thankful it is nothing too serious.

late night talks with my little sister.

immediate family all present to share a meal.

plenty of food when so many have none.

little ones singing in harmony.

Hannah's signature all over my paperwork.
Proof that when it goes in one ear it does not all come out the other.

cozy feather-filled duvet
sending the autumn chills away

ricotta cheesecake for dessert
it was my first attempt

the children run eagerly to greet their father this morning as he comes in from work
"HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!" they all chime in unison
and he says...
"But don't we give thanks everyday?"

holy experience

Today I am smiles all around.

The house is semi-clean.
Isaiah finished his school work early.
Bread is rising.
DH will be home early.
I am due in 9 days.
I have never been this much pregnant.
Despite the fact it is my 5th pregnancy.
DH bought me a new camera.
The littles are napping.
I love the daily bible verses on my sidebar.
They almost always suit my day.

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” 1 Peter 2:2-3

32 weeks

I am so glad that we have made it this far, our babies are usually early arrivals ( with the earliest being 24 and 28 weeks).

I just hope that the next few weeks fly by just as quickly as the past ones have. We thought that my bed rest would end this week but apparently I am to take it easy for two more weeks. That is a bit nerve racking, the house is a mess, there is a mountain of laundry in each bedroom and the storage closet. On top of it all the computer is going to the shop tonight and will not be ready until sometime next week. Being on bed rest was boring enough but now with out internet I guess I will be knitting up a storm.

I never thought I would be so eager to clean and do laundry but honestly I cannot wait.

BTW
I spell LABOUR with a "U" in it because I am Canadian and we do that.

Hunny I killed the plant

Dracaena marginata

One of the things that my hubby gave me for my birthday was a Dracaena marginata. The Dracaena is supposed to be an extremly low maintenance plant, all it needs is indirect light and occasional watering( the root will rot if soaking wet). You normally see these plants at the bank or the dentist office; places where no one remembers to water it and it still grows tall and strong.

When I first got it, it looked perfectly healthy but within 48 hours of my care all the leaves are falling off and the remaining leaves are going limp as I type. It is (was) so pretty, the base of the plant is curved into a heart.

Summer is here!

Well at least that is what my calender is saying. The weather around here still looks and feels like spring.
We are done school for this term and Isaiah will be doing grade one in september(maybe late august, not too sure yet. It will be our first full homeschooling year.
My laptop is on its death bed and I will not be getting this new one for at least another month.

So with all that said I will be taking a vacation from my computer to spend more time being a housewife and reorganizing my home and my life. I will be back in september or august(whenever we start school).

See you in a few months and Have a great summer!

Blessings

Christina

It is eleven in the morning and the kids are already exhausted and napping. I think the heat is causing me to move in slow motion these days. As a result I have been trying to wake even earlier so I can beat the heat and get the most vital things done; laundry, food prep and dishes. If in the morning I can cross those 3 things off my list then our day runs pretty smoothly.

Overtime I have realized that laziness, excuses, and procrastination can quickly turn a days schedule astray or even into chaos. As a result I have been trying to eliminate them all from my life (I was such a procrastinator)!

Proverbs 12:24
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labour.

Proverbs 19:15
Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry.

Proverbs 31:27
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Make the most of the 24 hours you have been given today because each hour that past will never return.
