It is eleven in the morning and the kids are already exhausted and napping. I think the heat is causing me to move in slow motion these days. As a result I have been trying to wake even earlier so I can beat the heat and get the most vital things done; laundry, food prep and dishes. If in the morning I can cross those 3 things off my list then our day runs pretty smoothly.
Overtime I have realized that laziness, excuses, and procrastination can quickly turn a days schedule astray or even into chaos. As a result I have been trying to eliminate them all from my life (I was such a procrastinator)!
Proverbs 12:24
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labour.

Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry.
Proverbs 31:27
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Make the most of the 24 hours you have been given today because each hour that past will never return.

Thank you for sharing those verses, Christina! This is something that I have been struggling with a bit lately . . . especially around mid-afternoon! The statement you made at the close is so true. Are we making the most of our time? Are we using each moment to serve and bring glory to God? To serve our families?
In Ephesians, Paul exhorts the brethren there with "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil." (Ephesians 5:15-16). Very convicting!
